Year of Ordination:

All my ceremonies are aimed to transcend cultures, gender, age and sexual orientation..

Embracing life in celebration!

I started JaYesTa ceremonies in 2010 to offer ceremonies that celebrate significant life events in a personal way. The name JaYesTa is a combination of the word ‘yes’ in three languages, Dutch, English and Irish. It is an expression of the heartfelt desire to embrace life and all that it may bring, be it by choice or by chance. I believe that there is a universal need for human beings to mark those major changes. These ceremonies should reflect the personal circumstances, spiritual, cultural and/or religious beliefs and core values of the people involved but unfortunately more often than not, this is not the case.

The first few years of my w

ork focussed mainly on celebrating wedding blessings and baby-naming ceremonies, but I was keen to deepen my skills as a celebrant as well as my own spirituality.

In 2015 I entered the OneSpirit InterFaith seminary in London and was ordained as a One Spirit InterFaith minister in 2017.

Q: What do you offer as a minister?

‘Ministry’ literally means: ‘to attend to the needs of’ and originated in Latin it translates to ‘to serve’. As an InterFaith minister therefore I attend to, and serve the spiritual needs of people.

My ministry is based on two principles:

● Ceremonies to mark any occasion in your life. These can include weddings, funerals and cremations as well as baby naming, divorce ceremonies, house blessings, trauma healing and significant birthdays.

● Spiritual companionship. This is always part of the preparation for a ceremony but it can also be used separately whenever you wish to explore an issue or situation in your life that is uncomfortable and/or unsettling.

Both services are designed to reflect the uniqueness of each client and their particular situation and at every point in my ministry this individuality is taken into consideration.

This means that…

I take my time to get to know you, build a relationship and make sure that you are at the centre of my ministry.

Q: Who do you minister to?

Well, this is easy. I minister to people of all faiths and none. In my view all people are created equally and worthy of unconditional love and respect. I will do my best to use language and/or images that connect with your life-view to help in the process of re-connecting/rebuilding the foundation of your life.

About Me

Born and raised in The Netherlands I moved, together with my husband Pim and our 3 children, to Ireland in 2000 and we have been living in Co. Clare ever since. For as long as I can remember I have been fascinated by religion and spirituality, in particular the many ways it becomes visible not only in the life of individuals but also in cultures and history.
